I grew up in Pflugerville, TX with my younger brother and sister. Growing up I played as many sports as possible. That love for sports hasn’t changed much in my adult life. After high school, I received my Bachelor’s degree at Angelo State University (Go Rams!). I majored in Biology with a double minor in Chemistry and Psychology.
In 2015, I made my way down to Houston to earn my DDS from the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. I’ve been a dentist for over 5 years now and can’t believe how fast the time has flown! Dentistry is a profession that will allow me to continue to grow, learn, and evolve throughout my career.
I’m pretty competitive in most aspects of life—likely why I pushed to find a career that could challenge me. You might see that competitive nature displayed when I’m out playing sand volleyball, lifting at the gym, or even in a friendly game of UNO with the family during the holidays.
My dental philosophy has always been: “if I wouldn’t do that treatment on my mama, I wouldn’t do it on my patient!” Sounds silly, but it’s an important mindset to have. If you treat every patient like family, then you’ll always have their best interest at heart.
My favorite aspect of dentistry is the people. I love getting to know my patients, learning their stories, treating the whole family. Being a dentist allows me to hang out with all different types of patients (including the kiddos!). Plus, I get to perform a range of procedures. No two days are alike, always keeps things interesting! My goal is to make every dental appointment as enjoyable as possible, we all know it’s usually the least favorite place for most to be! I hope that I can continue to provide a positive experience for my patients, grow in my craft, and do my best to erase that “scary dentist” image 🙂
